The Adoption Process may differ with each cat/owner, but generally follow similar steps :
Read our Adoption Information carefully (incl. Adoption Considerations) in order to be able to answer important questions.
If you have spotted a cat on Facebook or Cats for Adoption that you would like to meet, note the name of the cat and contact details of the person who ‘posted’ the cat, OR if it is a Feline Friends Cat, fill out our Adoption Form.
Contact the ‘Poster’ directly and make any arrangements to view the cat/kitten.
Please feel free to ask the ‘Poster’ all necessary questions about the cat, such as:
Behaviour / Personality
Does the cat sit on your lap/next to you ?
Is the cat good / friendly for children ?
Is the cat playful / calm / energetic / etc. ?
Is the cat good with other cats ? (If you already have a cat or intent to adopt two)
Is the cat Vaccinated (Rabies & Tri-Cat) ?
Is the cat sterilised ?
Does the cat have any health issues ?
Do you have to pay a contribution to the cats medical/boarding costs? If so, how much ?
Before you pick up your cat, make sure you bring a suitable carrier with you and that your home is cat-ready!
If you’re unsure about making a commitment to adopt, why not consider Fostering?
